London, October 16th, 2006 – FileBux is proud to announce that after months of development, the web site is now live. The site allows users to share documents, videos, images, audio files, and more. However, it is a spin off on the traditional file sharing web site.

FileBux rewards its users randomly for using the free service. Each time a member uploads a file to FileBux, their account is randomly awarded with points. The members with the largest number of points at the end of each month are paid cash for their contribution to the community.

Unalike many other file hosting web sites, FileBux also allows members to pick and choose who has access to their files. If uploading private information, FileBux members can control who has access to their files and who does not. Alternatively, all files can be made publicly available if desired.

“Our file hosting web site is different because we reward our users,” says webmaster Sammy I. “Members are what make web sites successful and we use our Points system to help reward members for using our web site and being part of our community.”

You can visit the web site, register an account for free, and upload files at http://www.filebux.com

How do companies make money this way?

Not sure about FileBux, but typically companies make money from advertising that is placed on pages to access the files that have been uploaded, or advertisements can be placed in email that are sent to inform people that files are available for download.
